Ahh Downloading Music.... we all love it, some of us feel guilty for it, others of us don't, and some even pay for it! We recommend that you don't! Download Music for free!

So when did it all start? Downloading Music became really popular after Napster came on the scene. Other peer-to-peer networks also aided in its vast popularity. The advent of Torrents also made downloading all file types, inluding music downloading, really popular.

As Downloading Music became more popular, the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) became more and more anxious. They cracked down on companies providing music for free on the belief that they were infringing on music copyrights. At that time there was evidence indicating that downloading music was actually increasing the profits of the mutli-billion dollar Music Industry, so some believe that the crackdown on music downloads was a power and control issue and not a coypright issue as the RIAA claimed. At any rate, software programs like Napster became less popular, and Music Download sites became quite popular.

Some of these Music Download Sites are subscription based, and others require you pay a fee to cover the copyright charges imposed by RIAA. There are some Free Music Download sites out there, which legally allow you to download their music! We encourage you to use those sites. And to those of you that are musicians yourselves, it has been proven that your msuic will sell better if people can listen to it, and share it with their friends.
